The Secret Weapon: Attachments
Many people make the mistake of using the high-pressure "pencil jet" nozzle on wood. Don't do this! It destroys the wood fibres and leaves permanent etch marks.
Instead, usage a Surface Cleaner (Patio Cleaner) attachment. This looks like a round disc on the end of the lance. It hovers over the ground, using spinning jets to clean evenly without striping the wood or spraying dirty water up your legs.
A clean deck transforms the look of your home. It’s safer (less slippery) and more inviting. Once it's dry, consider applying a fresh coat of oil to lock in the look for the rest of the summer.
- Clear the Area: Move all pots and furniture.
- Pre-Wash: Wet the surface and apply a specialized deck cleaner (available in-store). Let it sit for 5-10 minutes to break down the grime.
- Blast: Use the Surface Cleaner attachment. Work in steady, overlapping passes.
- Rinse: Switch to a fan-jet nozzle (set to low pressure) to rinse the dirty foam away.
